When the Bad News Comes

It's inevitable.
*Bad* News.
It often arrives unexpectedly.

What do we do?
Where do we turn?
Do we crumble and fall apart?

Or...
Do we recognise the Sovereignty
of our Great God
and acknowledge
HIS hand in the situation?

Do we REST in HIM?

As Christians,
our first thoughts ought to be of
the LORD and HIS goodness ~
is it difficult sometimes to have that reaction?

Definitely.

But, God is greater than all our fears,
worries and concerns.
HE really does do all things well.
What a blessing it is to
REST in that fact!

What a blessing to KNOW this TRUTH
at the very core of our being.

Many years ago,
a dear friend of mine came for a visit
and sat across from me and told me that
she had a terminal form of cancer.

She was going to die.
And, a few years later, she did.

But, she was not hopeless.
And she was not comfortless.
She did not despair.
It was encouraging to be with her!

God was with her in the deepest of valleys.
It was amazing to witness
HIS care over her throughout the
very difficult days that followed.

We may not understand.
It may not seem to make any sense.
But that does not change this FACT.

God is SOVEREIGN.

HE does all things well ~
All the time!

A Psalm that has become very precious to us
in the midst of recent trials is Psalm 46.

May the words of this Psalm be a comfort to
your soul as they have been to ours.

~ Psalm 46 ~

"God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will not we fear,
though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be
carried into the midst of the sea;

Though the waters thereof
roar and be troubled,
though the mountains shake
with the swelling thereof.
Selah.

There is a river,
the streams whereof shall
make glad the city of God,
the holy place of the
tabernacles of the most High.

God is in the midst of her;
she shall not be moved:
God shall help her, and that right early.

The heathen raged,
the kingdoms were moved:
he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

The LORD of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Selah.

Come, behold the works of the LORD,
what desolations he hath made in the earth.

He maketh wars to cease
unto the end of the earth;
he breaketh the bow,
and cutteth the spear in sunder;
he burneth the chariot in the fire.

Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen,
I will be exalted in the earth.

The LORD of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Selah."

~ Holy Bible ~

May the LORD bless you each with
HIS peace and presence in whatever
it is you must face day by day.
HE does all things well.

In His Love,
Camille
